House in Hillcrest crushed by tree

Posted: Updated:

Heavy snow and high winds knocked over a tree that crashed into a house in Hillcrest.

People were inside when the tree uprooted, but luckily no one was hurt.

All over the area, a blanket of snow and ice covered the fall foliage and all that extra weight caused trees to topple onto streets and cars.

Nearly 21,000 people in Rockland are still without electricity according to Orange and Rockland Power.
