Port Authority unveils $19.9M Stewart Airport expansion plan

Posted: Updated:

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced today a $19.9 million plan to expand the terminals at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor while adding 120 jobs.

As part of the plan, the terminal would be expanded by 30,000 square feet, allowing the airport to handle more than a million domestic passengers a year.

It would also create a separate area for international flyers to go through customs.

John D'Ambrosio, the head of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, approves of the plan, saying that it would likely mean more direct flights and would relieve some of the flights currently operating out of the New York City airports.
