Family: Middletown teen stabbed to death over money

Officials say a Middletown teen was stabbed to death last night, and distraught family members say the slaying was over a fight about money. Police say James Parker, 19, was fatally stabbed in the neck near his Linden Avenue home last night. His mother says she believes her son was killed by someone he knew over a financial dispute. Parker's mother complained about the Middletown Police Department's response to the violence. She claims police sent away an ambulance that could have saved her son, and then left him, uncovered, on the street from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m.The Middletown police chief says Parker was already dead when the ambulance arrived. He also denied that Parker's lifeless body laid on the street uncovered for hours. An autopsy of the teen has been scheduled for Monday. The death remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, police say.
