Police believe so-called 'teacher of torture' may have more victimsPosted: Updated:
Police are urging more victims to come forward in the case against the man accused of posing as a college professor and torturing young black men.
Larry Bottone is accused of posing as a Westchester Community College professor last year and luring young men from the Palisades Mall with the promise of high-paying jobs as secret agents. But, police say the victims were stripped naked and tortured instead.
Bottone was jailed in Connecticut for a year in 1997 for the same type of crime. Police now believe similar incidents may have happened across the Northeast.
Last week, Bottone was indicted on 29 additional charges that included assault and forcible touching. He will be arraigned next week. He faces up to 25 years behind bars for the top count on the current indictment.
Westchester police are urging other possible victims to contact them.
