A New City home was destroyed after a fast-moving fire tore through it this afternoon.

Firefighters say that flames were already burning through the top of the roof when they arrived at the Boecher Court home at around 3 p.m. They say it took dozens of firefighters from several departments about 45 minutes to get it under control.

No one was injured during the fire and the family's dog was outside at the time.

Officials say it's too early to determine the cause of the fire.
