Students return to HV school shuttered by sewer stench

Students and staff returned to the Laurel Plains Elementary School in New City today, nearly three months after classes had to be relocated after sewer-like odors caused some people in the building to feel ill.
School administrators say that after extensive testing, they concluded that area sewers were to blame for the overwhelming odors, and that once the appropriate repairs were made, the smells went away.Parents say that students and faculty returned to their old building to the tune of "Welcome Back Kotter" as they walked underneath an archway of blue and white balloons.
