Pilot water-treatment plant opens on Hudson River
United Water opened its pilot plant today to turn Hudson River water into drinking water.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to kick off the opening of the plant.
Officials say the water that is purified at the site will be for research purposes only. They say the data collected will be used in plans to build a $100 million treatment plant in the future on the Hudson River.
