Rockland County residents saluted soldiers with Veterans Day tributes today.
A parade that began at Suffern Village Hall snaked its way to the Soldier's Monument for a special ceremony. More than 100 people gathered to honor the men and women who have fought for the country, as well as those in active service.
"This country wouldn't be what it is if they forget," says Charles Calotta, commander of VFW Post 2973. "If they forget, we'll never maintain our freedom and our luxury of living here the way we do."
