Cuomo opposes 9/11 trial in New York

(AP) - Gov.-elect Andrew Cuomo says he's against tryingthe professed mastermind of the Sept. 11 terror attacks in NewYork.
He addressed the matter in a radio interview Thursday, a dayafter Attorney General Eric Holder said the Obama administrationwas close to deciding where to prosecute Khalid Sheik Mohammed.
Cuomo also said he supports natural gas drilling in upstate NewYork if it can be done safely. He says he'd be open to suchdrilling if it would create jobs but also protect the state'swatersheds.The prospect of "hydraulic fracturing" to find natural gas hascaused a bitter rift in areas that include the Marcellus Shaleformation. Supporters believe it would boost the upstate economy,while environmentalists warn it would pollute the state's water andhurt tourism.
