Several Catholic schools across WC, HV at risk of closingPosted: Updated:
More than a dozen Catholic schools across Westchester and the Hudson Valley are at risk of closing.
Church leaders say the reasons include declining enrollment and increased tuition.
Saint Bartholomew's, Christ the King and St. Mary's are in jeopardy in Yonkers, while Sacred Heart, St. Thomas of Canterbury and St. Joseph's are at risk in Orange County. Officials say several other schools across the region are also in danger.
Church leaders say all the schools on the list will remain open until next June. A final determination on which schools will close will be made in January.
