Pace athletes plead not guilty to charges of police interference

The lawyer representing a group of Pace University athletes arrested for allegedly interfering with police after their teammate was fatally shot says there is no evidence to prove her clients committed a crime.
Attorney Benita Zelman appeared in Mount Pleasant Town Court yesterday with her four clients, who all entered not guilty pleas to charges ranging from interfering with police to felony disorderly conduct.
Zelman reiterated her position that their arrest is a mere cover up for alleged police brutality against her clients.
A judge in the case adjourned the matter until next month at the district attorney's request due to the fact that this case is largely intertwined with the investigation into the fatal shooting of Danroy Henry, which preceded the athletes' alleged crimes.
