Vanderhoef, Carlucci look to fill seat of late state Sen. Morahan

Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef (R-Rockland) and Democratic opponent David Carlucci are both looking to voters to send them to Albany as a state senator in the 38th District.
The race changed when the then-current state senator, Thomas Morahan (R-Rockland) died of cancer after a six-month battle with the disease.
Carlucci is hoping voters will send him to Albany and "bring [it] out of the dark ages and into the 21st Century."
Vanderhoef was more quiet on the discussion, saying he was optimistic, but that it is up to the voters now.
