Pleasantville leaders speak out about slain Pace student

For the first time since the fatal shooting of Danroy Henry outside of a Thornwood bar, officials with the Village of Pleasantville have spoken out about the incident.
Officials expressed sympathy to the family of Henry, but said that they feel they are perfectly capable of conducting a full investigation into what actually happened on Oct. 17.
Henry's family has called for the U.S. Department of Justice to lead the investigation after information leaked out about Henry's alleged intoxication at the time of the incident, as well as growing racial tension caused by the incident.
Officials at the U.S. attorney's office released a statement yesterday saying they are monitoring the situation, but are leaving the investigation in the hands of the local authorities for now.
