Hundreds gather to remember 3 killed in 1981 'Brinks Robbery'

Hundreds gathered yesterday at the location where two Nyack police officers and a security guard were killed trying to stop the infamous "Brinks Robbery" in 1981.
Nyack Sgt. Edward O'Grady, Officer Waverly "Chipper" Brown and Brinks security guard Peter Paige were killed trying to stop a $1.8 million armored car heist from The National Bank at the Nanuet Mall.
For retired Nyack Police Sgt. Hugh Gaynor, he still remembers Sgt. O'Grady, saying, "I miss him every day that goes by and I still wish he were here. I know he's looking down on me today."
Those who attended the ceremony say that it serves as proof that the memories of the fallen men are still alive 29 years later.
