Parents tour replacement school for Laurel Plains E.S. students

Parents were given the opportunity yesterday to tour Hillcrest Elementary School, which will serve as a temporary replacement for Laurel Plains Elementary School students due to odor issues.
Hillcrest, which is in the East Ramapo School District, was closed at the end of last school year because of budget issues.
The Laurel Plains Elementary School students have been attending classes at Clarkstown South High School after Laurel Plains because inundated with strong odors three weeks ago, causing teachers and students to become sick.
Officials hope to have Hillcrest Elementary School ready by the end of the week for the temporary students.
