Posted: Updated:

American flags lined the entrance to Holy Rosary Church today as family, friends and fellow soldiers attended the wake of a fallen Marine from Greenwood Lake.

Lance Cpl. Scott Lynch, 22, was killed last week during combat operations in Afghanistan. He leaves behind his wife Tanya, his parents, two brothers and many friends who all agree he is a hero.

Thousands of people also turned out yesterday to pay their respects as his body was brought home from Dover Air Force base in Delaware.

Lynch will be laid to rest at Saint Stevens Cemetery tomorrow morning.
