Metro-North commute gets pricier for HV residents
The MTA today approved fare hikes that will raise tickets on Metro-North as the transit agency seeks to close an $800 million budget gap.
Hudson Valley commuters who travel from Yonkers into Grand Central Station are expected to pay an extra 60 cents daily.
Metro-North riders say while the hike may not seem significant, the economic downturn has already caused enough hardship.
The increases follow fare hikes in 2008 and 2009. Another increase is also planned for 2013.
