Fate of 'Newburgh Four' now in jury's hands

Posted: Updated:

After more than a month of testimony, the trial for four men accused of plotting to blow up two Bronx synagogues and shoot down military aircraft at Stewart Air Base is almost over.

Closings arguments concluded Tuesday in the case. The judge will formally read the instructions to the jury today before they are sent to deliberate.

James Cromitie, Onta Williams, David Williams and Laguerre Payen are accused of plotting the terrorist attacks.

The prosecution claims that the four men willingly and knowingly participated in the plot, which was infiltrated by a confidential informant.

The defense claims that the four men were entrapped by the FBI and were lured into the plot with the promise of money and gifts.
