Primary election still undecided in 17th Congressional DistrictPosted: Updated:
Voters in the 17th Congressional District are still waiting to find out who won the Republican primary election Tuesday.
The race between York Kleinhandler and Anthony Mele is so close that officials say as of Thursday, Kleinhandler was slightly ahead by around 150 votes and that doesn't include absentee ballots.
The Westchester Board of Elections says it plans to investigate an incident that allegedly involved Mele. Mele allegedly went to a polling place in Yonkers Tuesday and wrote his name on about 20 to 25 ballots, outraged his race was not listed, even though he was in the wrong district.
The Board of Elections says it would be up to the district attorney to determine if Mele could be charged.
