Obama says OK to call his new plan a stimulus bill

President Barack Obama says his entireeconomic agenda is designed to stimulate growth and create jobs, despite his administration's reluctance to call his new proposals a"stimulus plan."
Obama unveiled a series of infrastructure investments and taxincentives for businesses this week. Democrats want to show actionon the economy ahead of the November elections. But with the publicincreasingly worried about the mounting deficit, officials don'twant to call the proposals a stimulus - a phrase that calls to mindthe $814 billion stimulus Congress passed last year.
Speaking at a White House news conference Friday, Obama said hehas no problem with people saying he is trying to stimulate jobgrowth. But he, too, refrained from specifically labeling his newproposals a stimulus.
