It's back-to-school time for scores of HV kids

With summer drawing to a close, thousands of children headed back to school today in the Hudson Valley.

The new school year at Park Elementary School in Warwick began this morning with 425 students gathering at the auditorium to sing their school song.

Principal John Maraia says she has a lot in store for students this year.

"We are really looking at the academic achievement, as well as personal best and citizenship," she says.

Today was also the first day of school for Chester Academy students. Principal Ernie Jackson says teachers and staff have been busy preparing for the big day.
