Nyack High School imposes 'closed campus' rule
Nyack High School officials announced this week that come September, the school will be a "closed campus" for freshmen and sophomores.
Principal Joseph Spero says the reason for the change was for the safety of the students. Spero says the students will still be able to go outside the building during lunch as long as they don't leave school grounds.
Some students say they think the new rule is unfair and that lunch is the only time during the day that they can take their mind off schoolwork by not being on campus.
The school board says the restriction is a pilot program that it will review again at the end of October.
