Ducks take over Nanuet Park pool
The Parks Department is dealing with an influx of ducks at Lake Nanuet Park this summer.
Officials say a handful of ducks come to the park every summer, have some ducklings and usually leave after a few weeks. This year, however, the ducks seem to have taken up permanent residence at the park's pool and the Parks Department says it doesn't look like they're going anywhere on their own.
Clarkstown Parks Director Jo Anne Pedersen says they have posted signs asking residents to not feed the ducks, but they do it anyway. Pedersen says they now have permission from the state to move the ducks out.
John Stoughton, of the Rockland Health Department, says as far as the pool is concerned, ?there is no issue with public health?.
