Boil water advisory for Rockland after main break

The Rockland County Department of Health has issued a boil water advisory for United Water customers following a water main break in Tallman.
A main on Route 59 near Cherry Lane broke at around 1:30 a.m. yesterday, cutting off water to about 20 homes and businesses and sending a torrent of water running down the hill before crews could shut it off.
One business impacted by the break was Wagging Tale Animal Hospital.
"Of course we have an immediate concern for our animals," says veterinarian Dr. Robert Tennenbaum.
Crews finished repairing the break shortly before 2 p.m. yesterday and water service has been restored. United Water will notify customers when the water is safe to drink and the advisory is lifted.
