Referendum set for new baseball stadium in Ramapo
A public referendum is scheduled later this summer in Ramapo to discuss the development of a 3,500-seat Minor League Baseball stadium.
Among some of the things to be discussed, Ramapo residents will decide if the town can guarantee more than $16 million in bonding to the company handling the construction.
Town officials say they don't believe the funding for construction will be an issue, and the revenue from the ball park will help pay for the cost.
The location is just off Route 45, and development of the field already seems to have begun as crews are clearing land.
Opening day is scheduled for June 2011.
