Posted: Updated:

Fire investigators suspect lightning from Monday?s storm is to blame for a rash of house fires in Orange County.

In Washingtonville, two Brookshire condo units and a home on McLaughlin Avenue all caught fire yesterday as bolts of lightning streaked through the sky. In Middletown, one family?s rental home was completely destroyed by flames.

Although causes of the fires haven?t been officially determined yet, fire officials say they believe lightning to be the culprit.
