Police think drag race landed car in home

Police say a driver and passenger were hospitalized after the car the two were riding in went airborne and crashed into a Wallkill home during an illegal drag race last week.
The Hernandez family lived in the now-uninhabitable house on Patricia Road. They say they were relaxing in bed around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when they heard the sound of two speeding cars.
Lisa Hernandez, 10, was sleeping at the time, but was awakened when one of the vehicles came crashing through the living room wall.
Police believe that the two vehicles involved were racing along Dominick Street when one of the cars lost control and flew into the house. They are still trying to determine if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
