Residents seek cover on scorcher of a day

Hudson Valley residents took cover yesterday from hot, muggy weather that saw temperatures soar over 90 degrees before noon.
State health officials issued an air-quality advisory, warning that being outside too long may not be good for your health. And for the third day within a week, Orange and Rockland Utilities issued a heat watch, warning its customers to watch their energy use.
Staying clear of sizzling heat isn't an option for construction worker David Snyder, who stayed busy at work with a jackhammer.
"You gotta' do what you gotta' do," Snyder says. "This is what you get paid for."
