Police nab suspect in Nyack car break-ins

Posted: Updated:

Police arrested a man yesterday who's suspected of breaking into cars in Nyack and stealing electronics.

Authorities say at about midnight they received a call about someone going through cars. Officers who arrived on the scene arrested 41-year-old Aaron Labbay.

Police charged him with breaking into at least two cars in the area of Crosby and Summit streets in Nyack. Labbay was also charged with possessing marijuana and brass knuckles.

This past weekend, police arrested a teenager after someone allegedly saw him trying to steal property from a car.

Police are searching for the owner of a camera that was likely stolen from a car last night. Anyone with information is asked to call the Orangetown Police Department at 845-359-2121.
