Highland Falls school district rejects budget

Residents in two Hudson Valley school districts headed to the polls yesterday to vote on revised school budgets and a third budget went up for a vote for the first time.

Voters in the Highland Falls-Montgomery Central School District rejected its $24 million which included a nearly 19-percent tax hike. The district didn't present a budget to the voters last month because it was still working out the numbers.

The Minisink Valley Central School District and East Ramapo School District also put their budgets up for re-votes.
