Suffern baseball field dedicated to teen killed in crash

Posted: Updated:

The Village of Suffern honored the memory of a local teenager killed in a car accident by dedicating a baseball field he played on in his name.

Suffern's senior Little League field will now bear the name of Vincent Crotty.

Crotty, a Suffern High School baseball player, was on his way to practice in March when his car collided with a truck on Route 202. The crash also killed his friend and teammate Kristopher Konkowski.

Investigators concluded that a combination of slick roads, speed and lack of driving experience caused the crash.

Plans are under way to dedicate a Little League field in Ramapo to Konkowski.
