Goshen M.S. closed after fire

Posted: Updated:

A fire in home near the C.J. Hooker Middle School in Goshen forced district officials to cancel classes for safety reasons as investigators probe the cause of the blaze.

The home at 46 Lincoln Ave. was unoccupied when the fire began around 6:30 a.m. and is currently under construction. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze shortly after.

Fire investigators and a Goshen police detective are looking into the cause and origin of the fire, but say there were no injuries reported.

Classes are expected to resume on a normal schedule tomorrow.
