Pfizer cutbacks unnerve Nanuet residents

Posted: Updated:

Residents of Nanuet, who passed a school budget heavily funded by Pfizer this week, are concerned the company's cutbacks will result in future tax increases.

The pharmaceutical company, which has been cutting thousands of jobs recently, contributes about $24 million to the annual Nanuet school budget through taxes.

Residents fear if Pfizer continues to slim down and close buildings, the value of the pharmaceutical company's property would decrease - as would their taxes.
