Indian Point tests emergency sirens

The Indian Point nuclear power plant located in Buchanan tested its emergency system by setting off a number of sirens yesterday morning.
Of the 172 sirens, only one of them failed. The sirens lasted four minutes at full volume in precaution, making sure the system would work if there ever is an emergency.
The one failed siren was supposed to sound in Rockland County and is currently being investigated.
The sirens were heard in parts of Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange counties.
