Highland Falls students protest budget cuts

Students at James O'Neill High School in Highland Falls protested proposed budget cuts to their school yesterday.
Students began organizing after they learned the district was facing double-digit tax hikes that will likely force dozens of teachers to be laid off, one elementary school to be closed and programs to be canceled.
The local school board is now defying state law and not adopting a budget by the state-mandated deadline.
