Short Line bus riders face fare increase

Prices went up yesterday for some commuters taking Short Line buses into New York City.
Prices have been raised $10 on multi-trip books, where riders pay in advance. A 40-trip book now costs $260 a month.
In a statement to News 12, Short Line President George Grieve said, "We are very aware of the sensitivity of a fare increase in these tough economic times, which is why we have not increased our fares across the board in spite of significant cost increases in fuel, driver wages and health care."
