Clarkstown high schools eye later class start

High school students in Clarkstown could soon be setting their alarm clocks an hour and a half later to go to class.
Clarkstown Schools Superintendent Margaret Keller-Cogan is considering starting classes later at the two high schools within the district to accommodate teen sleep needs.
If the plan is approved, classes at Clarkstown North and South high schools will begin at 9:00 a.m. instead of 7:25 a.m.
Students, however, are speaking out against the idea, saying that the later start will push back extracurricular activities and bedtime.
"I have to do my homework later on, so I'm still going to have less sleep," says student Marisa Braca.
