Orange Co. exec gives State of County address
Orange County Executive Ed Diana focused on economy and job creation in the annual State of the County address that he delivered Thursday.
Diana said the overall health of the state and the nation is making it difficult for the county to move forward.
The county executive said that sales tax revenues were down, unemployment was at its highest in 20 years, and the number of people receiving temporary assistance increased by over 15 percent.
Despite the gloomy economic climate, Diana said he is proud of the steps the county has taken to create and retain more than 1,300 jobs and attract over $100 million in capital investment.
