Charges upgraded against Stony Point wife

Police say charges against a Stony Point woman who allegedly ran over her husband with a car will be upgraded to manslaughter.
Glenn McElroy died over the weekend after his wife, 31-year-old Kelly McElroy, drunkenly ran him over Jan. 24, authorities say. He suffered serious head injuries and was taken off life support at Nyack Hospital.
Kelly McElroy was originally charged with vehicular assault, but police say the charge was automatically upgraded to vehicular manslaughter. The Rockland district attorney is expected to ask a grand jury to increase the charges this week. McElroy faces up to seven years in prison.
