Dad killed during driving lesson in Goshen
A Salisbury Mills father was killed Tuesday after his teenage son, whom he was teaching how to drive, lost control of the car and went into oncoming traffic.
Police say 50-year-old Scott Davies was riding with his 18-year-old son, Tyler, when the teen, who has a learner's permit, veered off to the right on Sarah Wells Trail and then overcorrected, crashing into an oncoming car.
According to authorites, Davies died at the scene. His son and the 23-year-old driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.
"It's just an unfortunate chain of events that occurred," says Goshen Town Police Chief Dennis Marsh. "It could have been inattention."
