Spring Valley first responders heading to Haiti

A group of nurses and emergency responders from Spring Valley set out on their humanitarian mission to Haiti Tuesday, hoping to help in the earthquake relief effort.
Several firefighters, nurses and police officers began their journey by taking a commercial flight to Chicago. On Wednesday, the volunteers will be transported to Haiti by the military.
"We're willing to go, and we will do our best," says volunteer firefighter Antrice St. Clair.
The trip to the island nation was made possible by the orthodox Jewish Community in Monsey, which raised funds to fly the volunteers to Chicago and equipped them with satellite communication.
