Vanderhoef eyes run for NY comptroller
Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef announced Thursday that he is considering a run for state comptroller, just days after beginning his fifth term in office.
Rockland County Communications Director C.J. Miller says at this time, Vanderhoef is "keeping his options open and looking at how this plays out."
During his inauguration ceremony Tuesday, Vanderhoef did not rule out the possibility of seeking another political office in the future.
It wouldn't be Vanderhoef's first try for higher office. In 2002, he ran for U.S. Congress, and in 2006 he joined John Faso on the Republican gubernatorial ticket as a candidate for lieutenant governor.
