Search continues for missing Newburgh boy

Posted: Updated:

Police and K-9 units continued their search Tuesday for a 4-year-old boy who vanished more than a week ago in Newburgh.

Marc Bookal disappeared Dec. 14 while in the care of his mother's boyfriend, Cory Byrd. Police say Byrd has since refused a polygraph test. He has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and a violation of parole.

The Carlie's Crusade Foundation, which was started in memory of a girl who was abducted and killed in Florida, has offered $1,000 reward for information leading to Bookal's safe return.

Two anonymous donors have also offered a reward of $15,000 for the child's return.
