Counter-terrorism units conduct checks in HV
Counter-terrorism action teams made random cargo inspections Wednesday in the Hudson Valley in an effort to prevent terrorism and increase awareness and police visibility, authorities say.
The checks were conducted in high profile areas such as along the New York State Thruway in Nanuet and along Route 32 in Harriman.
Clarkstown police officers also hit the Palisades Center to hand out fliers advising shoppers about how they can be more vigilant in recognizing suspicious activity, including paying attention to unusual packages.
