A year later, vigil held for missing BK woman
? Friends and family of aspiring dancer Laura Garza held a candlelight vigil outside the Marquee night club Thursday, one year after the Brooklyn woman vanished.
Garza was last seen on Dec. 3, 2008 leaving the Manhattan night club with Michael Mele, a convicted sex offender from Middletown. Mele is in jail, serving one to three years in prison for failing to register as a sex offender. Mele was never charged with Garza?s disappearance.
State Police say they are investigating, but forensic test results are still pending. Police say they hope to get some answers that will bring closure to Garza?s friends and family.
