Protests expected at Obama speech
Anti-war protesters plan to rally outside the U.S. Military Academy in West Point on Tuesday when President Barack Obama details his troop strategy for Afghanistan.
Organizers are planning speeches and a silent candlelight walk from Veteran's Park in Highland Falls to the gates of the academy. The protesters say they will also call on Congress to not fund any additional troops in Afghanistan.
In the speech, the president is expected to detail a strategy that includes deploying thousands more American forces to Afghanistan, lay out a path toward disengagement and clarify why the U.S. is fighting the war.
