Police: Would-be arsonist arrested

A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to set his house on fire in New Hempstead Thursday.
Investigators say 26-year-old Michael St. Fleur was involved in a family argument earlier in the day, which resulted in an angry outburst on his part.
Neighbor Robenson Joseph says St. Fleur had been shouting threats and brandishing a knife before picking up a can of accelerant, pouring it around the home and taking off.
Police attempted to track down St. Fleur, but after several hours they called off the search. When St. Fleur returned home, he was taken into custody. He is now facing an attempted arson charge.
