RC Exec. Vanderhoef begins 5th term after win

Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef returned to his office Wednesday morning to begin his fifth term after defeating his Democratic challenger Thom Kleiner 54-46.
"I'm very pleased to have the people's approval and their support, and I look forward to working for them," Vanderhoef said.
Vanderhoef said there is currently an anti-incumbent mood in the tri-state area, which makes his victory even more significant.
Reacting to his defeat in the election, Orangetown Supervisor Kleiner said he did all he could to push voter turnout and has no regrets.
"The Republican turnout was higher, and that contributed along with a very good campaign by Scott Vanderhoef," Kleiner said.
