The FAA is searching for the remains of a plane that may have crashed in Rockland County Monday evening.
The Rockland fire coordinator says a small plane disappeared off radar on Long Island.
According to the FAA, residents in Pomona say they heard a crash and smelled smoke at around 6:09 p.m. Investigators searching for evidence of a crash did not locate a plane before the search was called off due to darkness, the FAA says.
The search will continue in the Harriman State Park region Tuesday.
