Pearl River honors young drowning victim

Friends, family and neighbors hung blue ribbons in Pearl River Thursday in memory of a local teenager who drowned in North Carolina.
Chance Cosgrove, 12, was swept away while body boarding less than a week ago.
On Thursday, volunteers spent hours putting up ribbons, which have been donated by a local florist, throughout town in show of support for the teen's family.
"We have been especially touched by the outpouring of love from those of whom we have never met," said the Cosgroves in an e-mail.
A candlelight vigil will be held in memory of the teen at Veterans Park Sept. 12
